Yes, thanks Gary, I've already seen the video. It explains with simple graphics, how the world got itself into this financial crisis. An how the greed of a few crooked bankers and investors made them VERY RICH and left many of the rest of us with financial problems.
But I agree it's well worth looking at the video. more…

I've been living in Turkey for 12 years. As we have the same problem here I sometimes undertake on the inside lane (of course the right here as we drive on that side!).
It's fun when you can do it at the same time as someone overtakes the lane hog on the left; I would love to be a fly on their windscreen at that moment (inside preferab more…

I hate those pre recorded ones where companies can't even be bothered to use a real person "you might be interested to know tha...."click. Alternatively go with them right up the point where they ask for your bank account details then tell them you haven't got a bank account. more…

The best thing to do with these people is to play a game to see how long you can keep them on the phone. My personal favourite is 'Please hold, the homeowner is at the end of the garden, I'll just get them, it's quite a big garden'. 45 minutes is the record. A bit mean but fun none the less! more…

register with telephone preference service www.tps.org.uk i think, all call centres are supposed to filter data through the tps registers before calling, and you can tear strips outta them if they call.
Takes about a month to filter and has flaws - if you have given a company your details you wont filter, if they call from abroad where regs more…

We get them here too but in a foreign language!!!!
I'm looking after my grandchildren at the moment and whilst I was taking a bath (too much info!) my seven year old granddaughter took a phone call. She came to tell me that a French lady had called about a carpet her mum had ordered! Of course this was a blatant untruth - the said Fren more…

I would have almost said the same as ABE nobody is really poor in this country and if they are its bad management that makes them that way.
The reason people have so much anger i feel is because they have time on there hands there energy is not used up working for what they get.
Vandalism was unheard of when everybody wo more…

I was surprised to find out Karen Mathews got £400 a week in child allowance and then she'd have housing benefits on top and maybe other allowances as well...I think, after hearing that, I'd put a limit on child allowance for three children only for unmarried mothers...just stupid to give more than that...it just encourages them to keep having more more…

I think, sadly, that anger seems to be increasingly closer to the surface of people these days. Not surprising when the country introduces ever restrictive legislation to overcome the problems created by the mess of the last lot of legislation. more…

The people who get benefits are those who teach each other how to milk the system and then shout and scream till they get payed.
The more they get the more they want and the easier it becomes to bend the rules!

They say "It's never too late ..."
so presumably the trend could be reversed, but would it take 10, 20, 50 years? How can we start it? What "sacrifices" might we have to make, like a return to discipline and appropriate punishment? more…

they need to reform the benefit system so it actually benefits the needy, instead of allowing wasters who can't be bothered to drop out of the working population.
Also, needs to be some notice taken of couples who wait til they can provide for a family before having kids, rather than supporting peeps who have kids in order to get hous more…
